At The Imaging Center, we recognize the important role we play in your healthcare. We also believe that “care” is essential to good medicine, and it shows in everything we do. Regardless of the diagnostic procedure you need, we will give you a level of caring and compassion that is unique in radiology.

Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will always put your needs first, and we’re especially good with people who are anxious about their procedure. You’ll be treated with kindness, honesty, and respect at every turn. We take extra steps to ensure that you’re comfortable and at ease. We will call you by name, treat you gently during your test, and attend to your needs. Let us Take A Look!

We provide Sooner appointments and Sooner Results. For instance, if you need an MRI exam, we can reduce your wait time and provide quicker results, because we’re the only facility in Oklahoma with three Open MRI machines. And since all three units are “open” systems, you'll be more comfortable and less claustrophobic, than with “tube-style” equipment.

Preparations Before Coming To The Imaging Center for an Examination

There are several items that may be required before you come to The Imaging Center. We need your cooperation to enable us to supply you with the best quality healthcare.

1. Prior CDs, Films, and Reports.

Please make sure to obtain and bring any prior data. These are needed for comparison.  In many cases they can guide and improve your imaging procedure.  If you do not have access to this information, ask your Doctors office for help.  If you still can't obtain the information, then we will need your permission to obtain this information on your behalf.

 a. prior CDs from any other imaging facility.

 b. prior imaging films or X-rays.

 c. prior reports that relate to your present imaging.

2. Collect and bring Personal documentation.

Here is a list of materials that should be gathered together and brought with you:

 a. Prior images on film, CD, and any written reports including a patent history.

 b. Drivers License, military ID, or Passport.

 c. All insurance cards and/or information pertaining to where to send your claim.

 d. A list of prescription medications you are taking or have stopped taking in the last week.

 e. A list of all known allergies including medications.

3. A Good Nights Sleep.

This is more important than many people realize. Do not get anxious about your imaging procedure. We are highly trained, certified, and most important, experienced professionals at The Imaging Center. We take every step possible to make your visit a safe, easy, non-event. We will explain everything you need to know and we will help you if you have any mental or physical issues. The Imaging Center relies on word of mouth as major advertising and making your visit a non-event is the best advertising we can get. Remember you can request The Imaging Center when your doctor indicates a need for imaging/radiology.

4. Food and Drink.

If you have been told to be NPO for 3 hours prior to your exam, then this means nothing to eat or drink 3 hours prior to your exam at Imaging Center. You will be required to remain without food or drink until the Imaging Process is complete. Please advise us in advance if you cannot be NPO due to a health condition such as diabetes. In this case we can probably help, so that the exam can be done anyway. The following procedures typically require NPO as follows:

 a. Ultrasound of the Abdomen (US ABD), NPO 6 hours prior to exam

 b. Ultrasound of the Right Upper Quadrant (US RUQ ), NPO 6 hours prior to exam

 c. Ultrasound of the abdominal aorta (US  AAA), NPO 6 hours prior to exam

Some procedures, particularly ones involving injections, require that you typically stay for an hour after the procedure is complete. All of our procedures are scheduled when a doctor is present to insure your safety. While it is very rare for a problem to arise, you should be assured that the doctor is just moments away and is trained to handle any situation.

Some procedures require sedation, which will require that you have a loved one or other party to provide transportation after the procedure is completed. For your convenience, The Imaging Center is a major stop on the Lawton Area Transportation system.
